Lucan Aeration Cell Before & After Bio-Desolve Treatment

Municipalities who have used MTS Environmental’s 100% natural carbon / humic acid based treatments have seen dramatic results in their wastewater treatment facilities, including reductions in lagoon biosolids, improved effluent quality and substantial municipal cost savings.

We’ve proven that our natural alternative to wastewater and biosolids treatment can help municipalities like yours while being environmentally friendly. MTS Environmental’s products reduce organic solids, contaminants, and nutrients – creating a healthier system that costs less to operate!

  • Accelerates bio-digestion of solids in digesters and holding tanks, increasing the volumes of supernate that can be decanted
  • Increases capacity of holding tanks and reduces volumes of solids that need to be land applied, landfilled or incinerated
  • Digests and reduces biosolids accumulations in wastewater treatment lagoons by up to 20% in a 12 month period
  • Liquefies and degrades grease and biosolids deposits in collection systems and pumping stations
  • Assists in the removal of oils, grease, liquid organics & suspended matter from wastewater
  • Helps remove toxic metals from wastewater – copper (Cu), lead (Pb), Chromium (Cr)
  • Maintains and / or improves effluent quality
  • Reduces offensive odours and harmful gases
  • Reduces use of harmful chemicals
  • Helps create a “Greener” municipality

Municipal wastewater lagoons can be effectively treated with MTS Environmental’s carbon / humic acid based products – a cost effective, simple solution.

MTS Environmental has researched and now manufactures a bio-stimulant that has a great future in the biological treatment of wastewater and biosolids. The product is Bio-Desolve, which is an all natural biosolids digestion accelerator. Bio-Desolve consists of humic carbon and communities of naturally occurring  microbes which work together to stimulate and improve biological growth in wastewater treatment systems.

Test results for a 2000 Population Town in Ontario: Solids reduced by approximately 35 % based on volume.

Example: Prior to the Bio-Desolve treatment 12,865 m3 were found settle at the bottom of the cell versus 8338 m3 observed after 10 months of the Bio-Desolve treatment.
This also increases the capacity of the lagoon, increasing the retention time.

E. Coli levels reduced by up to 98 %.

Example: Prior to the Bio-Desolve treatment E. Coli levels were measured around 4300 CFU / 100g versus Post Bio-Desolve levels measured at 10 CFU / 100g or less.

  • Effluent quality maintained and / or improved while solids are being digested.
  • Septic odours have been significantly reduced.
  • Bio-Desolve increases the overall efficiency in which a wastewater treatment lagoon system operates and creates a greener, healthier environment.

Proven Results

Each month, more regions are discovering the benefits of Bio-Desolve.  MTS Environmental is currently working with more than twenty municipalities in Ontario – treating and maintaining lagoons, holding tanks, aerobic and anaerobic digesters, RBC units and aeration tanks.

“We’ve found that every municipality experiences different issues depending on variables such as their operating system, population, unique businesses in the area that raise specific wastewater levels, foaming, odours, nitrate levels, and so on,” said Scott Thompson, MTS Wastewater Treatment Consultant.

MTS Environmental has seen reductions in foaming on aeration tanks, increases in decantable supernate in aerobic and anaerobic digesters, and an accelerated breakdown of organics in aerobic digesters, meaning less sludge needs to be transferred to holding tanks, land-applied, land-filled, or incinerated.
